The Best and Most Memorable Commercials of the 1990s

“Can you hear me now?...Good.” If you grew up in the 90s, you know that the commercials were

just as iconic as the shows themselves. They were the memes of our time, as we used popular

commercial quotes as punchlines and our way to claim relevance in pop culture! Between

Saturday morning cartoons and after-school specials, brands hit us with unforgettable ads that

still live rent-free in our minds. The 1990s was a golden era of advertising, filled with catchy

jingles, hilarious characters, and taglines we still quote today.

Who could forget the “Gotta Have My Pops” Kellogg’s ads, or the legendary “Yo Quiero Taco

Bell” chihuahua? From the quirky "Bud-Wei-Ser" frog campaigns to the ever-energetic

“Extreme!” ads for Surge and Mountain Dew, the 90s knew how to grab attention.

Here are 3 of our fav 90s commercials:

1. Nike’s “Just Do It” campaign featuring Michael Jordan and Bo Jackson

2. Pepsi ad featuring the adorable child commercial star Hallie Eisenberg (before

her big bro Jesse Eisenberg became famous)

3. The Super Soaker and Skip-It commercials that had every kid begging their

parents

4. Crossfire’s intense theme song, which turned a board game into an action

movie.

These commercials didn’t just sell products, they sold connection and relatability. Although we

didn’t have a “skip” button to skip the commercials, you didn’t want to! You saw yourself and

your family in these commercials or you simply couldn’t get the catchphrase or jingle out of your

head. They became part of our culture, playing on repeat in our living rooms and in our heads.

Whether it was the animation, the music, or the slogans, 90s commercials knew how to stick.

We’ve rounded up some of the most iconic commercials of the 90s...but now we want to know

your favorites! Was it a catchy jingle or a slogan you still quote today?
